Pallet Reefer® is a self contained refrigerated shipping unit that moves fresh and frozen freight through standard dry freight LTL networks. It holds setpoint within 2°F, with no refrigerated trailer required.

Pallet Reefer was developed by Louis and Cynthia Saia through a joint venture with Northrop Grumman, and became a $20M+ per year business at its 1990s peak, shipping meat, seafood, frozen novelties and dairy through carrier networks that had no refrigerated equipment.
The original patents have since expired into the public domain. Their son, Sam Saia, is relaunching the product with the revised engineering drawings, rotational mold tooling, and a set of newly engineered improvements now pending patent filing.

Each unit is a refrigerated container sized and built on a standard pallet footprint, cooling only the freight that needs it.
